About this project
The existing garage ceiling had failed and needed to come out entirely. We stripped it back to bare joists, which exposed the wiring, ductwork, and the garage door track running through the space, everything that had to be worked around rather than covered up.
From there it was new board hung tight to the framing, seams taped and coated, and the attic access hatch reframed and cased. The finished ceiling is flat and clean edge to edge, with no telegraphing at the seams or fastener heads, the part of drywall work that only shows up once the light hits it.
